Coir Propagation Cubes
Compressed coir cubes with a pre-formed planting hole, wrapped so the block stays intact through handling and transplanting. Used for cuttings, seedlings and grafted plants in nurseries, greenhouses and hydroponic systems.
Overview
A coir alternative to mineral wool blocks.
Propagation cubes give young plants a defined volume of coir with the right balance of water and air for rooting, in a format that fits standard propagation trays, gutters and slab planting holes. The pre-formed hole takes a seed, a cutting or a smaller plug; the cube is transplanted whole, so roots are never disturbed.
The standard cube measures 10 x 10 x 10 cm and holds 850-900 ml of pure coir peat screened to under 12 mm. It is wrapped in UV-treated film that stops the block breaking up on automated lines and keeps light off the root zone.
Cubes are washed to a low EC, so seedlings can be fed a normal nutrient solution from the start, and they set cleanly into Tropicoir grow bags and open tops for a fully coir-based crop.

Packaging
116 cubes per carton, 80 cartons per export pallet, strapped and stretched with corner protectors. Cubes can also be supplied pre-set in trays for automated lines.
Loading
20 pallets - 1,600 cartons, 185,600 cubes - in a 40 ft high-cube container. Cubes also ship in mixed containers with grow bags, blocks or bales.

How to use
Set cubes in trays and saturate with nutrient solution (EC 1.0-1.5 mS/cm for most crops), allow to drain, then sow or stick the cutting into the hole. Keep the cube moist but not waterlogged; transplant when roots reach the outside of the cube.
