Compressed coir slabs sealed in UV-treated LDPE bags with plant holes and drain cuts already made. Hydrate in the greenhouse and plant. The standard 60% peat / 40% chip mix is tuned for tomato, cucumber, pepper, strawberry and cut-flower production.

A root zone you can plan around.
A grow bag is a complete root environment: the substrate, its water-to-air balance and the bag that holds it. Tropicoir slabs are compressed from washed, low-EC coir and packed in co-extruded LDPE film - white outside, black inside - that reflects heat, blocks light from the roots and is UV treated for two years in the house.
Because the mix is fixed at the factory, every slab in the house behaves the same way: the same hydration time, the same drain fraction, the same response to your irrigation strategy. That consistency is what lets you steer a crop by EC and water content instead of reacting to variation.
The standard slab carries 60% dust-free coir peat and 40% husk chips of 6-7 mm, giving free drainage with a high water-holding capacity. Any other peat-to-fibre ratio can be pressed to order - 100% peat, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40 or 50:50 - as can the slab size, the plant-hole pattern and the drain cuts.

Peat-to-fibre ratios
Slabs can be pressed in any peat-to-fibre ratio. These are the ratios most often requested - tell us the crop and irrigation strategy and we will recommend one.

Packaging
Slabs are packed in their LDPE bags, stacked flat on export pallets and strapped and stretched with corner protectors.
Loading
450 slabs per pallet, 20 pallets - 9,000 slabs - in a 40 ft high-cube container. Trial pallets are available for crop trials.

Start-up guide
Lay slabs on a level, draining surface. Open the plant holes and hydrate with 8-10 litres of nutrient solution per slab, in two or three passes, until fully expanded. Wait 24 hours, open the drain cuts at the lowest point, check the drain EC, then plant.
